Trusted and respected leader, Mayor Derrick Wood is an entrepreneur, civic leader and veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Prior to serving as mayor of the Town of Dumfries, Mayor Wood served on Town Council for 6 years and currently serves on a number of boards and commissions throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. Known throughout the region for his smart growth approach to developing the Town of Dumfries, Mayor Wood has led historic investments in infrastructure and business development.
As he seeks re-election, Mayor Wood is looking to continue his strategic plan for the Town of Dumfries which includes $130 Million dollar transportation projects, affordable housing and well paying jobs. Mayor Wood is just getting started.
